He's like my godfather. Always has provided great advice and has pushed me to think critically about myself, whether in my motives for not wanting to sing for Trump's inauguration, or when helping me edit my ninth grade paper on the Spanish Civil War, or when helping me when a random creepy guy texted me Catullus 16. He has made me realize that studying a "dead" language or other more esoteric subjects (inclusions in alluvial diamonds?) can be just as as important as a more applied field like public health.
