With gratitude and 50 more...

Len is an extraordinary and capacious soul. He is also, possibly, the very best at being a friend. Len’s love for his friends is one of selflessness but also, importantly, of solidarity. And his willingness to persist in solidarity—and his ability to derive from such persistence a great and confirming joy—that makes him such a remarkable friend and comforter. I am extremely grateful for Len’s existence, and ask on the occasion of his 50th birthday only for fifty more years of his friendship.
